Witch Kissed Old Sarum Witch Cozy Mystery Series Book 1 edition by KE O'Connor Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks
What a delight this was to read! I bought all the books in the series, that I didn't get for free, ahead of reading the first book. I rarely do this unless I know that I am going to enjoy the book. I wasn't wrong. The love between these two sisters, Ivy and Bryrony, is remarkable in itself. Each of them sacrificing their happiness and future for each other. While they each tell one another to go find love, neither of them are willing to sacrifice the life of the other. At least not until they find a way to get rid of the family curse where none of the Thornheart women can fall in love without it making a sibling ill. Marriage would definitely be out of the question as it would kill the sibling. Since I don't have a crystal ball to see what happens next, on to the next book to see if they find a way to lift the curse.Product details

Witch Kissed Old Sarum Witch Cozy Mystery Series Book 1 edition by KE O'Connor Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
I am voluntarily writing this review. I first discovered K.E. O'Connor through her Zee Town series and now I'm hooked on her as an author! This is another wonderful series from O'Connor involving witches, curses, and all other matter of magical beings. This mystery hooks you immediately and the secretive natures and odd circumstances surrounding the characters keeps you hooked until the very end. All I can is, MORE PLEASE!

My Review ✰✰✰⭒
I thought the cover of the book I got from the author’s newsletter was really cute. The elements all came from the book and the artwork fit the vibe of the book. BUT, when I started putting this review together I discovered there is a second cover for this book and it looks like it will be used for the series rather than the one I have. I just don’t care for it anywhere near as much as I do the other one, though I do like the old typewriter font that was chosen for everything but the title. It seems to be a popular font lately. What do you think of the two covers?
This was a fun read, but it had no real depth to it. The writing was pretty good but needed smoothing out in some spots to help the flow. The pace was fast for the most part but got bogged down towards the end with incidentals. I came away with questions that I assume the author is saving for future books in the series. Like what is the curse on the Thornheart women? Who put it there? What’s the story behind Bryony’s and Ivy’s fathers? One was an angel and one was a demon.
Agatha comes to the Love Cauldron to get the sisters’ help getting rid of the kissing curse and to find out who put it on her. Once you get into the story a bit, it’s easy to figure out who had it put on her, but the surprise is who actually laid it on her! I was rolling on the floor laughing over that part! But Ivy handled it pretty well.
The pairings are fairly predictable, too. There’s Gabriel who is a failed angel. He works for the Charm Police. That’s the local police force that keeps the humans safe living around the magical folks. He has a real soft spot for Bryony. And then there’s Kristoff. He owns the Demon’s Den, a bar. Guess what he is. Yup, he’s a demon and trouble. And he’s got his eyes on Ivy. There’s no sex and the only violence is the fight between Ivy and Kristoff at the Demon’s Den.
I really liked this story. The curse on the Thornheart family is definitely different and most interesting. I get a real charge out of Ivy; she is such a kick-ass witch. Bryony is sometimes a little too nice, but she balances Ivy nicely. The other characters in the book are well rounded and well thought out. The stand-off between Ivy and Kristoff is hilarious in a way. I can't wait for more books in the series and hopefully the curse on the Thornheart family will be ended and they can have their HEA's. I was given an Advanced copy of this book and am freely and voluntarily writing this review.
I have not read this yet, but I really enjoy the cozy mysteries.
This is the best book I have read in quite some time! I average 5 to 7 a month, and it's been at least 6 months since I read a book this good!
this was like a tween read. not for adult reading but your young grand-daughter might like it.
In Briony and Ivy Thornheart’s potion shop people come to be helped with some really odd problems, like color changing hair and turning people off when you kiss them. Trying to figure out what herb or potion is usually easy as pie, but the kissing one has them stumped, so the girls go out to find the how and the what of it all. In the mean time, there is Gabriel, the police, who adores Briony and the sinister Kristoff, who has his eye on Ivy to deal with.
Its an interesting ending and I will be reading the next one ASAP.
